One of the important functions of the Fire Department is fire prevention. The function includes enforcement besides educating the public. Hence the inspectors of LAFD see that the Fire Code is followed by the homeowners and business executives of the organizations. Such programs allow reducing the losses from fire. LA Municipal code created the Fire Code and accordingly the Fire Department assigned to the Inspectors to ensure that the code is followed in commercial as well as in residential occupancies. Many non-profit organizations also support the Fire Department.
In this regard, the LAFD also offer guidance for testing of Fire Protection Equipment. The interest persons should apply through the prescribed application form in accordance with Regular Number 4. The person should contact with certified tester to perform test. At least 2 days notice should be given prior to test. The test results will be provided on Fire Department approved forms along with defects if any noticed.
